This winter will you help local families with rising energy costs? Project Wenceslas.
This winter will you, like good King Wenceslas, help fuel-poor families afford rising energy costs?
Winter Fuel Payments have changed. Until now the government sent the payments automatically to everyone of pension age. From now on it depends on people’s incomes. To continue receiving it they will need to claim a benefit like Pension Credit.
But older people who aren’t eligible for Pension Credit are worrying about heating their homes. And working-age families are facing heat or eat decisions too.
With your help, Project Wenceslas can make that worry less of a burden. You can donate any amount in support of those affected. All money donated helps those struggling with electricity and gas bills and allows the purchase of energy-efficient appliances.
Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell manages the distribution for the benefit of local people in fuel poverty; direct to fuel suppliers with no deductions for costs or fees.
For more information on this scheme or to donate please visit your local rotary website: epsomrotary.uk or ewellrotary.club and search for Project Wenceslas.
To apply for support contact Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell on 0808 278 7963. The line is open weekdays.
We’re proud to be working once again with our friends at the Rotary Clubs of Epsom and Ewell in support of local families. Now in its 8th year Project Wenceslas is a bridge between donors and people grateful for the generosity of their community. Project publicity here.
