Money Advice & Debt
We have here in Epsom & Ewell a strong and established money advice and debt advisory capacity within our general advice team.
All our advisors who give debt advice have passed special accredited training run by the Money Advice Service, and we are overseen in our debt advice by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Our FCA number is at the bottom of the page.
Debt advice is a skilled activity, and we are proud that so many of our volunteer team have undertaken the lengthy training required for this, in order to be able to help people in the Borough.
Life often throws financial challenges in our path, which may start small, such as a bill to pay being larger than expected, or large, such as a benefit payment being reduced, but either way, these can send us onto the growing spiral of debt.
Clients often tell us that they didn’t know who to turn to or where to start. If you are in debt, and feel out of control or overwhelmed, please contact us for help – the longer it is left untackled, the larger the problem can become.
Just call or drop-in to the office (see How To Get Advice) and one of our skilled and trained advisors will be able to help you.
Remember that all our work is free and completely confidential.
Money Advice Project
We also provide free, impartial and confidential money advice through our specialist Money Advice Project.
In recent years we have seen a significant increase in clients seeking complex money advice.
We are very grateful to be funded to deliver assistance to our often vulnerable clients by Rosebery Housing Association and Epsom and Ewell Borough Council.
As a team of money advice specialists, we take clients by referral from funders, other third parties and our internal general advice team.
We work one-to-one with clients to help them resolve their financial difficulties. Our approach is individual to each client and we aim to empower each client so they reach attainable targets and move forward with sustainable budgets and solutions for their indebtedness.
Our team benefits from diverse skills and experience and includes team members who have completed Institute of Money Advisers specialist training.
